Highlights from the Luang Prabang Gala 2026

The Annual Luang Prabang Gala 2026 took place amid the picturesque gardens and waterfalls of Rosewood Luang Prabang, raising US$100,000 to support free, high-quality healthcare for children in Laos.

The evening brought together longtime and new supporters, members of our Board of Directors, and our founder, Mr. Kenro Izu, to reflect on what we've achieved, celebrate the impact of our work, and look to the future of children's healthcare in Laos.

Nicole Pagourgis, Executive Director of Friends Without a Border, led the evening and the auction, with former Medical Director and long-time volunteer Dr. Greg Thompson also on the stage. LFHC Hospital Director Dr Robert Winokur delivered some very moving remarks on the hospital’s journey and the people who have made it all possible.

One of the highlights of the evening is the screening of ‘The Lives You’ve Helped Change ’, a short film that looks back on the lives of the former patients of LFHC and how they’re doing today.

Drawing on more than a decade of footage, stories and memories, the short film is a powerful reminder that your generosity does more than save lives. It gives children the chance to grow up, pursue their dreams and build a future filled with hope and possibilities.

The evening also saw the increasing strength of local support for the hospital. Our silent auction had a great line-up of items, all donated by local artists and businesses in Luang Prabang and Vientiane.

The evening raised US$100,000 for Lao Friends Hospital for Children.

The extraordinary generosity we saw through the events and the online campaigns in October gives us real hope for the future and a very positive outlook.

The funds raised will support the children we care for today and the many more we will care for in the future.‍ ‍ From all of us at Friends Without a Border and Lao Friends Hospital for Children, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
