The Lake Clinic

Friends Without A Border’s entree into Cambodia sparked the eventual birth of The Lake Clinic in the Tonle Sap.

Jon Morgan, former executive director of Angkor Hospital for Children, founded The Lake Clinic in 2007 after witnessing the poverty and need for health care across Cambodia. The Lake Clinic is a project dedicated to bringing basic healthcare, as well as disease surveillance and proper medical referrals to a severely isolated and underserved region of Cambodia - the Tonle Sap.

The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and serves as home to some of the poorest and most remote villages in Cambodia. Over 1 million people live on and around the lake. The majority of families rely on subsistence fishing for survival and the average family income is $2.50 per day.

The Lake Clinic’s medical teams provide the floating communities on the Tonle Sap with adult and pediatric primary care, vaccinations, dental services, eye care services, antenatal care, health education, and referral, with transportation as needed, to the hospital.

The Lake Clinic USA was established as a charitable organization in the United States. Please make a donation on TLC USA website by clicking below.
