Surgery for Burn Survivors: Children Action’s 4th Mission
Lao Friends Hospital for Children was proud to welcome Children Action for their 4th visit in December 2025. Since the partnership began in 2023, their team has been returning regularly to help transform the lives of children across Laos. During this mission, specialist plastic surgeons provided reconstructive care for children living with burn injuries, scarring, and contractures.
This time, the team operated on 15 patients, including several children with severe contractures that limit movement and affect daily life, school, and future opportunities. These surgeries are truly life-changing, helping children regain function, reduce pain, and return to life with more independence and confidence—bringing hope and relief to their families too.
Children Action’s support goes beyond surgery. They also provide training and hands-on guidance to help our teams strengthen long-term burn care and recovery.
