  • We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Digital Content Specialist with a strong storytelling instinct to help bring our mission to life through compelling digital content.

    In this role, you will create engaging short-form videos and social media content that showcase the inspiring work happening every day at our hospital. From capturing moments of care and compassion to highlighting the dedication of our medical teams, your work will help connect audiences around the world to a cause that truly matters.

    This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about digital media who wants to use their creativity for social impact. You will be part of a small, collaborative team working to raise awareness of our services, grow our global audience, and inspire support for high-quality healthcare for children who need it most.

    • Film and edit short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts

    • Take photos and videos of hospital activities, events, and daily operations

    • Create and post content regularly that showcases our mission and impact across all four accounts (Lao Friends Hospital for Children, Friends Without A Border, Anakha Children’s Hospital Visitor Centre, and Run4Children Luang Prabang Marathon)

    • Learn and apply current trends in digital content to reach new audiences

    • Work with all staff to find meaningful stories while respecting patient privacy

    • Track which content performs well and help improve our approach

    • Keep video files and photos organized for easy access

  • ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Lao national

    • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

    • Proven ability to film and edit videos using a smartphone and/or camera

    • Familiarity with video editing apps and software (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar) and social media management tools

    • Active user of TikTok (and/or Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), with understanding of platform trends, formats, and algorithms

    • Strong visual sense and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging, meaningful content

    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines

    • Prior experience creating social media content (personal accounts, volunteer work, or professional experience)

    • Good computer literacy (basic office tools, file management, online platforms)

    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Job Title: Director of Hospital Services

Nature of Work: Full-time

  • The DHS will provide leadership and strategic direction for the hospital, ensuring it functions effectively and achieves its aims and objectives; namely, the provision of evidence-based, high-quality medical and nursing care, education of staff, and community disease prevention. To achieve this, the DHS will work closely with representatives of the Luang Prabang Provincial Health Department and Hospital, the Ministry of Health, and the University of Health Sciences, developing a harmonious working relationship that promotes the integrated delivery of compassionate and quality health care to children in the Luang Prabang Province and supports other provinces in Lao PDR.

    The Director of Hospital Services supervises all clinical aspects of the hospital (including physicians and nurses) and oversees a mix of clinical shifts in the outpatient, emergency, inpatient, High Acuity Unit, and neonatal units, as well as the administrative functions, working closely with the Director of Admin. Most direct clinical work is performed by our staff of Lao doctors. A major responsibility of the DHS’ role is to ensure the provision of high-quality care to the LFHC patients, as well as high-quality of education and professional development to the LFHC doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff members.

    • The DHS will work closely with and report regularly to FWAB NY.

    • Directly supervise the medical director, medical education director, director of nursing, admin director, and director of prevention and outreach coordinator.

    • Oversee the development and provision of educational activities that will meet the needs of the hospital and hospital staff members.

    • Develop leadership within the Lao clinical and administrative team to enable sustainable local management to occur within the hospital. 

    • In charge of the hospital quality of care framework design and implementation (in close collaboration with the Medical Director and the Nursing Director) for the development and monitoring of a hospital quality assurance system, which allows the assessment and improvement of the quality of health care provided by the LFHC team.

    • Oversee the development and implementation of hospital-wide medical policies and protocols.

    • Ensure LFHC has a coordinated multidisciplinary clinical team that provides compassionate, safe and effective clinical care to children.

    • Provide guidance on the hospital’s long-term strategy.

    • In charge of the opening of new clinical services.

    • Review Clinical Incidents together with the Medical Director and the Nursing Director with the incident review committee and propose appropriate corrective actions.

    • Provide bedside education, consultation, and assistance with clinical care to Lao medical staff as required.

    • Develop collaboration with LFHC external partners in order to improve LFHC clinical practices.

    • Clinical shift supervision with bedside education, mentoring, and guidance.

    • Support the LFHC team in close collaboration with the Medical Education Director in undertaking research projects.

    • Share back-up call (day and night) as needed.

    • Lead by example in demonstrating excellent care on a daily basis.

    • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees and supervisors.

  • Essential:                

    • A Medical Degree from an internationally recognized university

    • Registration to practice clinical medicine in the applicant’s home country

    • Recent clinical experience in the practice of acute pediatric medicine

    • A higher qualification in pediatrics and/or a close related pediatric subspecialty field

    • Management and budgeting experience in a health care setting

    • Demonstrated high-quality communication, leadership, team building and organizational skills

    • Commitment to providing compassionate and nurturing care to patients

    • Willingness to work with donors and community businesses for the purpose of fundraising, if necessary

    Highly desirable: 

    • A higher qualification in a health or management field

    • Experience working in a developing country in a low resource setting

    • Housing allowance

    • Travel allowance (R/T to home country once a year)
