Our 6th annual Gala was held on Tuesday, April 22 at the New York Athletic Club and was a tremendous success. We have an incredible group of supporters who fill our auctions year after year with beautiful items donated in-kind. This year was no exception as we acquired items such as photographer Steve McCurry’s famous photograph, Afghan Girl, and authentic Cambodian statues and artwork. Photographs from numerous artists were donated along with hand crafted jewelry and event tickets. Thank you to everyone who donated and sponsored our Gala.
Mr. Drew De Carvalho was the Emcee for the evening and did a wonderful job at getting the crowd excited during the live auction. Speeches by Board Member, Dr. Ron Ablow, and Founder, Kenro Izu also inspired and encourage donors throughout the evening. We had three guests from AHC attend the event: Dr. Bill Housworth, the new Executive Director of AHC; Dr. Pises Ngeth and Ms. Soklin Seng, a nurse and ICU leader. They had an exciting evening meeting donors and witnessing firsthand the kindness of those who support their country.
We want to thank Veronique Lee and Chazz Levi for yet again decorating the New York Athletic Club beautifully with cranes that were made throughout the year by children at the hospital. This extra touch made the event so much more personal. We also want to thank all of the volunteers who helped us that night. You are truly Gala professionals by now and we could not do it without you.
Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Gala and we hope to see
you again in 2009!

Friends Without A Border held its 11th Annual Friends of Friends Photography Auction on December 11th, 2007 at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The night was an enormous success as Friends raised approximately $150,000 in support of Angkor Hospital for Children. Throughout the night close to 500 guests attended. Not only did the generous guests of the evening support us by bidding on the amazing photographs that were donated, but they also opened their wallets to support programs such as the Adopt-A-Doctor/Nurse program and meningitis treatment. We thank everyone who attended in support of the work that we do.
We want to thank everyone who donated artwork, as well as the committee members
who provide tremendous support to the auction. Every year the support of the
art community grows and we appreciate it very much. We thank Howard Greenberg
for his tireless support of this event. We would also like to thank all of the
volunteers who helped coordinate this event. Without you we could never achieve
the goals of AHC. Thank you Irene Wong and Saffron 59 for the delicious food
that was served that night. We also want to thank Chazz Levy and Veronique Lee
for the wonderful job they did of decorating the pavilion, providing the perfect
backdrop that evening.

The New York chapter of Friends of Friends held a wonderful event on October 20, 2007 at St. John's Cathedral in Tenafly, NJ. The event was complete with traditional Cambodian music, dancing and food. The night began with appetizers and a silent auction filled with items ranging from Kenro Izu photographs to beautiful Cambodian artwork. Before the seven-course meal was served Kenro spoke about the progress of AHC, and a Friends board member, Dr. David Pugatch, gave a presentation complete with updated photographs of the hospital. Their speeches inspired donors to be especially gracious during the live auction that helped raised thousands of dollars for AHC. The night was enhanced by the playing of Cambodian music by not only the dynamic band Monorom, but by special guest Ratana Veth, who sang beautifully throughout the night. We want to thank Rebecca Perrin for helping organize the dance performance that night by the children, and we want to thank the children for all of their hard work.
