The Children of Angkor DVD - Eight Minute Video
Background

During a series of photography trips to Cambodia’s Angkor monuments Kenro Izu was forever changed by his encounters with ill, malnourished and disfigured children in desperate need of medical care. Izu founded Friends Without A Border (Friends) in 1996 and dedicated himself to building a pediatric hospital in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) was completed in 1999 and has since treated over 750,000 children.

AHC exists to provide high-quality health care to the children of Siem Reap Province, while educating Cambodian health professionals and improving preventative health practices. In 2001 the Capacity Building and Health Education Program (CBHEP) was introduced to work directly in Cambodian communities. In 2004 the AHC Medical Education Center (MEC) was opened to house AHC’s extensive education programs. AHC, the MEC and CBHEP work in conjunction to achieve the goals of Friends.
