From Dr. Marlene Goodfriend
Resident Chief Pediatrician

My first reaction to the Angkor Hospital For Children was this is a very special project. Being involved with Friends Without A Border is a chance to help children who live in difficult conditions and have little. I was especially touched that the hospital will address not only the medical needs of the children of Cambodia, but the needs to play and to learn. There will be a playground and children's library as part of the hospital complex. I look forward to working at the hospital as a pediatrician. It will be gratifying to care for children in this thoughtful environment. I am also excited by Mr. Izu's plan that the hospital will train Cambodian doctors.
The chance to work with, teach, and learn from the Cambodian doctors will be an unique professional experience. This collaboration can have far reaching effects in the lives of the Cambodian children and physicians. I have enjoyed being part of the beginning of the Angkor Hospital For Children, and I am eagerly anticipating its opening this fall. I know my experience with the Angkor Hospital For Children and Friends Without A Border will have far reaching effects in my life.
