The AHC Laboratory provides 24-hour service to the hospital. The lab provides an average of over 5,000 tests each month including, clinical chemistry, blood transfusion medicine, hematology and microbiology. Under the management of Mr. Hor Putchat, the AHC lab has become renowned throughout the region for the quality of its work. The World Health Organization has proposed making the AHC lab the bench-mark for quality assurance in Cambodia. Because of its reputation the AHC lab has also become involved in collaborative projects with other NGO’s, including the training of staff from Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

As AHC patient numbers increase, so do demands on the laboratory. As a result, work is currently underway to increase capabilities through the extension of our microbiology facility. In addition, we hope to procure an Autoanaylzer, to increase productivity. Would you like to help maintain or improve this vital part of AHC?
