Statistics from UNICEF, World Health Organization, CIA World Factbook, Heller Keller World Wide and Handicap International and the National Institute of Statistics, Cambodia During a series of photographic trips to Cambodia’s Angkor monuments Kenro Izu was confronted and forever changed by the real face of the above statistics. Deeply moved by his encounters with children disfigured by landmines and in desperate need of medical care, Izu dedicated himself to building a pediatric hospital near the Angkor Wat temples. Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC), is located in Siem Reap, the city nearest the ancient Khmer capital. Completed in 1999, AHC has already treated over 345,000 children. Angkor Hospital for Children exists to provide much needed high-quality health care to the children of Siem Reap Province, while educating and training Cambodian medical professionals. AHC is a project of Friends Without A Border (Friends), a U.S. based not-for-profit organization founded and directed by Kenro Izu. To Help Support Angkor Hospital for Children
