Friends Without A Border Welcomes CEO
We at Friends Without A Border and
Angkor Hospital for Children would like
to welcome Danielle Hilson, Ph.D., as the new Chief Executive Officer of
Friends Without A Border. Danielle joined Friends Without A Border at the
beginning of the year. Prior to this, Danielle was the Executive Director
of the Peter and Patricia Gruber foundation, which she joined after eleven
years at Hadassah, first as Director of its Strategic Planning Division and
then as Executive Director of its international division.
She brings to Friends extensive experience
and knowledge about the
international non-profit arena including strategic planning, development,
marketing & communications, organizational planning, employment management
and team building.
Danielle was born in France and speaks
French fluently. She and her
family immigrated to Chicago when she was eight years old. She was
educated at the University of Chicago in Musicology and continued her
studies in Music and in French Literature at the University of Illinois
where she earned her PhD degree in French Literature.
Danielle just returned from Siem
Reap where she first became acquainted
with the work of our organization. She expressed awe when visiting the
hospital and excitement at the prospect of working with Friends to help it
grow and prosper.
